Algeria’s Imane Khelif and Taiwan’s Lin Yu-ting, who were declared ineligible during tests at last year’s World Championships, were cleared by the IOC on Monday to compete in the Paris Olympics.
Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting have been allowed to take part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Algerian Imane Khelif was disqualified a few hours before her gold medal bout at last year’s World Championships in New Delhi (India), as she did not meet the eligibility criteria of the International Boxing Association (AIBA).
IBA does not organize the Olympic Games
The Taiwanese boxer, a two-time world champion who won bronze at the World Championships, lost out because the eligibility criteria set by the IBA had not been met. At the time, IBA President Umar Kremlev told the Russian news agency TASS that female boxers had “XY chromosomes”.
The World Championships were organized by AIBA, which is no longer an IOC-recognized federation.
At the 2024 Olympics, the Paris Boxing Unit (PBU), an ad hoc unit established by the IOC Executive Board, will organize the competition.
