Ryan Garcia wins by split decision

It was on the night of Saturday 20th to Sunday 21st that the two champions Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney faced each other.

And while Devin Haney seemed to be the favorite, not everything went his way.

He lost his WBC belt:

As WBC belt holder, Devin Haney had to defend his belt against Ryan Garcia. But the mission turned out to be a failure.

A great rivalry between the two boxers:

This isn’t the first time the two boxers have faced each other. Already in the amateur ranks, the two boxers have crossed swords three times, each recording 3 victories. This left them with a series of draws between the two boxers. This fight would therefore be the best way to decide between them.

It was only natural, therefore, that the rivalry between the two boxers should be intense, as they were ready to fight it out. There was a lot of tension between the two athletes, as each wanted to prove to the world his superiority over the other.

And now Ryan Garcia has done just that, knocking out Devin Haney three times to prove his superiority to the world. To do this, Ryan Garcia began by attacking hard in the first round, using his power and speed.

Devin Haney, disciplined, managed to regain his composure and was very effective with his jab. And it’s the big shock in round 7, when Ryan Garcia knocks Devin Haney to the floor twice.

The reigning champion falls for a third consecutive time, in round 10, and then again in round 11, but manages to get up each time.

King without a belt :

Ryan Garcia won the duel, but remains king without a belt, as he missed the weigh-in and therefore doesn’t officially become division champion. Devin Haney lost his belt, but received no less than $1.5 million from his opponent for missing the weigh-in.

He wins the jackpot :

Despite not winning the belt, Ryan Garcia still hit the jackpot, collecting the astronomical sum of $12 million.

Ryan Garcia had taken the risk of betting no less than 2 million dollars on his own victory over Devin Haney. This strategy paid off for Ryan Garcia, who won the jackpot in addition to his salary.

Once the fight was over, the eternal rematch debate began to resurface. We wonder when the two boxers will face each other again, and more importantly, when it will happen. Especially as other boxers have felt the urge to fight for the belt, such as a certain Gevonta Davis, who has long had his eye on it.
